omg that is killer funny! I must not be "in tune" to the PBR info ripples, however, because I can't find anything about PBR events, or bull riding events in general, in China. If they go, you can bet yer butt someone would need a crowbar and a team of more than 12 to pull me away from the TV LMAO. I would swallow my issues with their abysmal human rights record, their tainting of our animal feeds and toothpaste, as well as their filling our kids toys with lead, just for two hours in order hear the giant collective shriek at no opening prayer, no national anthem, no border patrol/military salute. Although, perhaps they'd have a brief parade of the red army... All would be okay though if they'd include a Wal-mart flag in the opening ceremony ;-)

Jean, it's all speculation at this point, but a few weeks ago, there was a "poll" in the PBR website asking people where they should go for their first international event. Some of the options were South America, South Africa, England, and I believe China. There was also some conversation last year about going to China. I would really like to know who thought that was a good possibility.

Not to mention that the new CEO of the PBR has ties to China. He also wants to take the PBR to the next level and so it must be China! At the time I thought it was a stupid poll. The new CEO was fired from Walmart for some questionable, ethical issues (per news reports). He only stayed at Sears Holding for 1 year. I believe that China stint was in between.

If someone was fired for ethical concerns at WALMART, of all places, I think we have problems. Or, more problems.

I can't figure out why the PBR would even want to go to China in the first place -- sure, there are a lot of people there but most of them aren't in city centers and don't have a lot of disposable income.

However, if the PBR pulls this off somehow, I for one will be interested to see how long it takes for 16 year old girls who are pretending to be 18 to start winning all the events.

I would personally be rather amused if they manged to get bullriding going in Jolly Olde England. "Tally ho!" instead of "Turn him loose!" and "Top hole, old chap!" instead of "Nice job cowboy!"

I am so scared this is true.

Stockyard Queen, you are a blast!

If they had any smarts, they'd head for Argentina, South Africa, and New Zealand. But then, we're talking about the people who don't even answer their mail.
