Some Very Disturbing News

Folks, Pearl and I just stumbled upon a news story that ran in the Weatherford, Texas, Democrat last Wednesday (June 22). It reports that McKennon Wimberly was arrested  that afternoon for allegedly shooting a hitchhiker.

Of course, we don't know the whole story yet, but nothing about this sounds good to the Stockyard Queen. Let's hope the justice system in Weatherford gets this sorted out as quickly as possible.

I do not believe that people should carry guns. I am from Iowa, not Texas. We used to live in Houston and Austin. I am not a gun advocate. People get hurt by guns.. It can mess with your life.

Yeah, this is the problem with carrying guns--too many things can happen when a situation gets heated or confusing. I'd like to hear more facts, but I hate what I'm reading.

First off I want to say great blog! I had a quick question
in which I'd like to ask if you don't mind. I was interested to find out how you center yourself and clear your head before writing. I have had difficulty clearing my mind in getting my ideas out. I truly do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are usually wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any recommendations or hints? Thanks!

To the anonymous poster who left the abusive comment: Nobody comes on here and calls other posters names on my watch. Consider yourself warned.

Guns and alcohol, when mixed, never ends well.

Alcohol and guns do not mix well. Never a good ending. We consider ourselves the most civilized country in the world yet have the highest death rates from violence. Saying this, I have met McKennon Wimberley in person and found him to be both a gentleman and a gentle man....no arrogance and swagger. He either must have been truly fearful for his father's safety. We must also consider that he is recovering from a near fatal head injury. This type of injury can both impair your judgement and change your personality. I would hate to see this ruin this young man's life. My whole family loves him. And thank you, Stockyard Queen, for putting the abusive posters in their place......the waste basket.
